Everton and Fulham vying for Canales; Ter Stegen confirms Gladbach exit

hot-transfer-newsEverton and Fulham vying for Canales

Eurosport is reporting that Premier League sides Everton and Fulham are showing interest in Valencia midfielder Sergio Canales.

The Cottagers appear to be leading the chase at the moment as they hope to sign the Spaniard on loan until the end of the season.

However, Everton boss Roberto Martinez also values the midfielder highly and could decide to challenge their Premiership rivals for Canales’ signature.

The 22-year-old has struggled to get his career back on track following a knee ligament injury and he has started just one league game since Juan Antonio Pizzi took over the reigns at Mestalla.

Los Che appear ready to farm him out on loan in January, and English Premier League appears to be his next destination.

His suitors Fulham currently sit just above the relegation zone and are priced at 8/11 to survive the current league campaign.

Ter Stegen confirms Gladbach exit

Borussia M’gladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has revealed that he will be leaving the club at the end of the current campaign.

The highly rated goalkeeper, who is heavily linked with a summer move to Barcelona, has refused a new contract offer from the Bundesliga side.

And with his current deal due to expire in June 2015, everything suggests he will be sold at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old has moved to confirm reports linking him with a summer exit from Monchengladbach.

“I am happy because Monchengladbach have taken my decision to leave very well,” ter Stegen told Die Welt.

“I received a top offer to renew, but I chose to go down a different path.”

Despite his fragile age, ter Stegen has already amassed 92 Bundesliga appearances while earning 3 Germany caps and he is predicted a bright future in the game.

Galatasaray close on Heitinga

Everton defender John Heitinga is on the verge of completing a move to Galatasaray, according to Voetbal International.

The Turkish giants have been in talks with the player’s representatives over the last few days and their latest offer has reportedly been accepted.

John Heitinga has agreed to sign a deal until the end of the season with an option for another year, Voetbal International understands.

Galatasaray first need to offload one foreign player before they can complete the deal, but that should not be a problem as Spaniard Albert Riera looks set to leave by mutual consent.

Heitinga will be reunited with former teammate Wesley Sneijder at Turk Telekom Arena and he is hoping regular first team football will aid his chances of making Netherlands World Cup squad.

The 30-year-old has spent last four and a half years at Goodison Park, making a total of 115 Premier League appearances and scoring 2 goals.
