Everton in for Draxler

Everton have joined the race to sign Wolfsburg winger Julian Draxler, according to the Independent.

The Germany international has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal and now the Merseyside outfit have thrown their hat into the ring.

On Wednesday, the twenty-two year old confirmed that he is on the lookout for a new club, having only signed for Dieter Hecking’s side twelve months ago.

He made thirty-four appearances in all competitions last season, scoring nine goals while more recently he was part of Germany’s squad for this summer’s European Champions.

In total he has been capped twenty-four times for his country, scoring two goals – the last of which came in a 3-0 win over Slovakia just over a month ago.

Prior to his switch to Wolfsburg, Draxler played one hundred and seventy times for Schalke, scoring for them on thirty occasions.
