French media outlet L’Equipe has suggested that Premier League strugglers Everton are keeping close tabs on Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
The 26-year-old only joined the Villans last summer from Lille, but he couldn’t help the club avoid relegation to the Championship.
However, Gueye has clearly done well in the 35 Premier League starts, considering that Everton are now showing interest in his services.
The Toffees have ambitious plans ahead of the new league campaign and they hope to bring the Senegalese to Goodison Park in the summer transfer window.
Seeing as how they were relegated from the elite division, Aston Villa would probably consider selling their prized asset, but chances are the midfielder will not be leaving on the cheap.
The former Lille star has been one of club’s few bright spot in an otherwise disappointing campaign and he now looks set to cash in on some very good performances.
