Everton are reportedly interested in signing Japan international Keisuke Honda from CSKA Moscow.

The 27-year-old has been on show for his country at the Confederations Cup in Brazil recently, and it is rumoured new Everton manager Roberto Martinez is already looking to cover the potential loss of Marouane Fellaini.

Martinez has been in Brazil as a commentator, hence watching Honda first hand.

Ex-Everton tactician David Moyes was also interested in the midfielder during his final season of his tenure at Goodison Park earlier in 2013.

Honda will be keen to make the move to the Premier League, while Everton will be looking to get him on the cheap, as he could only cost them a transfer fee of five million pounds or the club could wait until January to try and seal him for nought.

The appeal of Honda is not only restricted to the confines of the pitch, as whichever club lands the 45-time capped international will generate plenty of interest in East Asia.

Meanwhile, Fellaini is reportedly looking to play Champions League football sooner rather than later, but the Belgian may have to bide his time until January before he finds a compatible suitor.
