Macclesfield Town have earned themselves an FA Cup third-round tie at home to Championship leaders Cardiff City with a 4-1 win over Barrow.

The all-Conference National clash was always in Macclesfield’s control from the outset, after John Paul Kissock and Chris Holroyd were both on target in the opening 16 minutes to have the hosts 2-0 ahead at Moss Rose Ground.

Adam Boyes immediately replied for the visitors with a goal in the 17th minute, but it proved to be in vain, as two goals in as many minutes in the second half saw the home side through their second-round replay in style.

Matthew Barnes Homer struck on 67 minutes, before Holroyd rounded out a brace to see the non-League outfit to a date with Cardiff in the third round.
