Wayne Rooney's gesture of kissing the badge on his Manchester United shirt during Saturday's match against former club Everton will go unpunished by the Football Association, the governing body has said.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said after the 1-1 draw with Everton that he'd substituted Rooney for the England striker's own good as the player's temper clearly started to fray at Goodison Park.
Rooney's response to being booked for a foul on Mikel Arteta was to kiss the badge on his United shirt, a move widely viewed as provocative given that it took place at Everton's home ground.
But the FA said Monday they would not be investigating the incident as it was seen and dealt with by referee Alan Wiley, who spoke to Rooney at the time.
Of course the FA will take no action, Rooney is their golden boy plus he plays for Man Utd, who can do no wrong in the eyes of the FA. Corrupt.
No. SAF punished him enough with being taken off of the pitch. The Everton fans were the instigators and should be the ones punished. They showed no respect for someone who played for them before and he showed none in return. Good for him. Long live United!
Anyways, the fans were the ones controlling the ref. Rooney should never have been booked for what he did.
