Fabian Schar on Lazio radar

With Stefan De Vrij bound to leave the club at the end of the season, Serie A hot-shots Lazio seem to have already lined up a replacement for the Dutchman.

Spanish media outlet El Desmarque claim that Biancocelesti have set their sights on Deportivo La Coruna defender Fabian Schar, who has emerged as the top transfer target for the Italian side.

The 26-uear-old Swiss international only joined Deportivo La Coruna last summer but could be set for a swift move to Serie A.

Schar is being described as an attainable option for Lazio, given that Deportivo La Coruna could very well lose their top-tier status at the end of the season. Deportivo are currently one place in front the bottom-placed Malaga and face a struggling battle to avoid relegation.

What’s more, they are seen as 1/5 betting odds favourites to leave La Liga this year.

Fabian Schar has been one of the brightest sparks in otherwise disappointing Deportivo side this season, making 20 La Liga appearances thus far.
