Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has revealed he would be happy to remain at the Emirates Stadium for the rest of his career, once again quashing rumours of a move away from the London club.
Fabregas has long been linked with a move back to childhood club Barcelona and with president Joan Laporta and technical secretary Txiki Begiristain both hinting at a move for the Spanish international rumours have intensfied once again.
However, when asked whether he could remain at Arsenal for the rest of his career Fabregas replied: “Why not?
“I have never really thought about it, staying here all my life, because I am only 22 and you never know what your career will bring – but why not?
“It is my seventh season now, I am really happy, better than ever, so you never know.”
“This [speculation] has been going for years. It does not affect me at all. I do not think about it because I do not want to and I do not think I should.
“I am at a great club, with a great team and am happy.
