(GSM) – Cesc Fabregas’ father has spoken out over the transfer rumours surrrounding his son, saying that Barcelona should go through the proper channels if they want to sign the Arsenal captain.

“Imagine someone constantly spoke about signing a player from Barca; they would naturally be angry,” Francesc Fabregas told Radio Kanal.

“If something happens, we will see at the end of the season. That is when we can talk about it.

“It is understandable that Arsenal are unhappy. If a club is interested in a player, they have to negotiate with the club.

“This is how it has always been.”

Hmmmm….good call Gooner…I don’t follow baseball enough to know how the Yankees recruit, so maybe I shouldn’t have made such a general comment…my bad…I do know tho that the Yankees and Red Sox have the same mystique as Real and Barca as well – a lot of people grow up dreaming to play for these teams…it’s the grand stage to perform on.

I might be concerned about preventing this from happening if I was the EPL…it must affect it’s viewership and marketability when stars of this calibre are unsettled to leave the league for another…

That’s because in North American sports the system is built so every team has a chance to win a championship, in oppose to only a select few who win the league every year. There is no temptation to HAVE to join a team like the LA Lakers, if you can have the glory of possibly being the player that takes turns around a bottom of the table basketball team.

this is ridiculous now…Barca and Real have been too sneaky in their affairs for my liking…

I wouldn’t be disappointed tho if some clubs started returning the favor (of unsettling their players)…

Not sure how they constantly get away with these tactics…actually I do know how they get away with it – they cross that line that most clubs and managers won’t b/c there is a mutual respect for everyone in the sport…I guess Barca and Real do not feel the same…in North American sports, you don’t hear about this at all…trade talks are always flying, but the teams themselves do not cross the line to unsettle players openly…
