Fabregas Sr: I did not meet Valdano

(GSM) – Cesc Fabregas’ father has denied reports that he had a meeting with Real Madrid director general Jorge Valdano at the weekend after reports linked the Arsenal midfielder with a move to the Bernabeu.

There had been speculation that Fabregas Sr, also called Francesc, attended Real’s game with Valencia at the Bernabeu after television pictures claimed to show the Arsenal midfielder’s father in a private box.

However, he categorically denied being there or having had talks with Valdano.

“I was not at the Bernabeu,” Fabregas Snr said.

“Meeting with Valdano? It is totally false. On Monday morning I have been with my daughter walking around Barcelona, this is the only truth.”
