Fair Play: Philadelphia player persuades ref to rescind red card after opponent’s challenge (VIDEO)

You don’t see it happen quite often, but incidents of fair play beyond one’s reason do occur from time to time in football.

This particular one happened in the MLS during DC United’s match with Philadelphia Union, when Luciano Acosta received a straight red card after a start on Haris Medjunanin.

Medjunanin showed great class by defending Acosta and explaining that the challenge was not harsh enough for a red card.

The ref changed his mind and here is that fair play incident on tape:
