Faouzi Ghoulam set for new Napoli deal

Napoli full-back Faouzi Ghoulam is set to sign a new contract with the club, Il Mattino has suggested.

In spite of the heavy interest in his services, the 26-year-old has decided to pledge his future to the Azzurri, securing a major pay rise in the process.

According to reports, Ghoulam will put pen to paper on a contract until June 2022, worth €2.5 million per campaign.

Considering that he has been earning €800,000 per season so far, his salary will be more than tripled, while a release clause could be included as well.

Ghoulam has had an important role to play in Napoli’s impressive start to the Serie A campaign, spending every single minute on the pitch and contributing 2 goals in 6 appearances.

Following the excellent start, the Azzurri can be backed at 7/1 to lift the league trophy.
