Fekir won’t make Arsenal switch in January

When a certain Chilean moves away from North London some time soon there will be an Alexis Sanchez-shaped hole in the Arsenal attack. Unfortunately manager Arsene Wenger won’t be able to fill that hole with French international Nabil Fekir in January, according to the Star.

The versatile midfielder’s current club Lyon have reportedly ruled out a January move for their star man, even if it means rejecting a £60m bid from the Gunners. Fekir has bagged an impressive 10 goals and four assists in 12 Ligue 1 appearances this season, so it is little surprise that he has been topped as the heir apparent to Sanchez.

Arsenal have slipped down to sixth position in the Premier League table, a massive 21 points off leaders Manchester City. A top four finish for the North London club seems a more realistic prospect, but they remain four points off Liverpool, who currently occupy that spot.
