Fellaini hoping for United front

Marouane Fellaini hopes Everton can maintain their recent good form against Manchester United when the two sides meet on Sunday.

The 24-year-old was instrumental in the club’s 1-0 win at Goodison Park at the beginning of the season, nodding in the winner, while he also bagged a double against the same opposition during the 4-4 draw at Old Trafford last term.

Fellaini feels that in order for the club to maintain their top-four push, they need to perform against the best of what the top flight has to offer.

“First I look forward for Belgium (their friendly against Slovakia on Wednesday) and after we will see (what happens) against Manchester United,” Fellaini told Everton’s official website.

“Every game against Manchester United is a good game.

“It’s a big challenge but everyone wants to play Champions League so it is important to keep going and win every game.”

David Moyes’ side sit just three points adrift of Tottenham in fifth place going into the game at Old Trafford.

Fellaini scored a dramatic late double to help his side to a 3-3 draw at home to Aston Villa last weekend, and he praised the spirit within the camp.

“It’s difficult to win when you make a mistake but Everton have good spirit and try to win every game at home. It was a good point,” he said.

“Every game I try to give my maximum and to score goals. It’s not just me – the players and supporters help, everything is important.”
