Fenerbahce keep close tabs on Porto defender

Turkish newspaper Fanatik reports that Fenerbahce are weighing up move for Porto defender Rolando.

The Turkish giants have had a poor start to the season and they plan to reinforce their back line with a quality defender in January.

Juventus’ Lucio has been mentioned as a possible target, but Fanatik reports that Porto stopper Rolando is also on Fener’s wish list.

The Portugal international has been in fine form during the first four years at the club and was linked with a number of Europe’s top sides, but his career has started taking the wrong turn of late.

Rolando has been relegated to the bench this season, making just one substitute appearance in Primeira Liga.

As a result, Porto are expected to cash in on the player in January, even if his price will be much lower than it was last season.

Since joining the Dragons from Belenenses, Rolando has made 112 Primeira Liga appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals.
