Gertjan Verbeek has left his role as manager at Rotterdam football club Feyenoord, paper ‘AD’ reports this afternoon. It is not known if he jumped or was pushed.
Over the past few weeks Verbeek, who was in his first season with the club, had lost the trust of his team. Earlier this week the management board let it be known that the situation could not continue.
Feyenoord are suffering one of the worst season in their history: the Rotterdam club is languishing in 12th place in the Eredivisie, 22 points behind league leader AZ and just five points above the relegation zone.
