AZ Alkmaar needed only one goal to beat Feyenoord Rotterdam and defend their lead in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Feyenoord did put up a fight against AZ at De Kuip stadium but couldn’t prevent their oppenents from walking away with the points as Ari scored the only goal in the 56th minute.

As a result, AZ restore their original three-points advantage over Ajax, who beat NAC Breda 3-0 on Friday.

Feyenoord have little to be happy about at the moment, as Gert-Jan Verbeek’s men are currently in 11th place in the Dutch league.
