FIFA has confirmed Mohamed Bin Hammam as the only challenger to Sepp Blatter for the presidency of the governing body.

The Qatari billionaire was the only candidate to register for the election before the April 1 deadline.

Bin Hammam has been on the executive committee since 1996 with Blatter becoming president two years later, but the 75-year-old Swiss confirmed it will be his final term if re-elected on June 1.

Of the other potential candidates, American Grant Wahl failed to get enough support and former Chile captain Elias Figueroa pulled out of the race last Thursday.
