Fiorentina agree deal for Zuniga

La Nazione has learned that Fiorentina are on the verge of signing Colombian full-back Juan Camilo Zuniga from Napoli.

The Serie A leaders have all but agreed an 18-month loan for the experienced defender that will begin in January and will last until the end of the player’s current contract.

Under the terms of the agreement, Napoli will continue to pay around 60% of Zuniga’s wages during the next year and a half, after which the Colombian will probably sign a permanent deal with Viola.

The 29-year-old was one of the Azzurri’s key players not so long ago, but a succession of injuries saw the full-back lose his place in the starting line-up.

After making just 13 league appearances for Napoli over the last two years, Zuniga has not even appeared in the match squad this season and no doubt he will be delighted to have agreed a deal with current league leaders, who are 3/10 favourites to see off Lech Poznan tomorrow evening.
