Fiorentina have announced the signing of striker Oleksandr Yakovenko from Anderlecht for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old joined the Belgian club in 2008 and, after being loaned out on two occasions, returned to provide a haul of seven goals in 20 Jupiler League appearances last season.

That form has caught the eye of Italian outfit Fiorentina, leading to their acquisition of the Ukrainian on a three-year deal on Wednesday.

“ACF Fiorentina has completed the signing of Oleksandr Yakovenko,” a statement on the club’s official website read.

“The 25-year-old spent last season at Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht. Yakovenko has put pen to paper on a three-year deal that runs until June 30 2016.”

Yakovenko has just one international cap for Ukraine, which came during a 1-0 friendly win over Norway in June 2010.
