Fiorentina set to rescue the forgotten Baba Rahman

Abdul Baba Rahman is still a Chelsea player, but you wouldn’t have known it. The Ghanaian hasn’t played a single minute in the Premier League since Antonio Conte took over as the Blues’ manager, and was even shipped out on loan to Schalke. However his London nightmare could soon be coming to an end, with Italian publication ilBianconero reporting that Fiorentina are interested in the fullback.

Chelsea have been doing relatively well without Baba’s presence on the pitch, winning the Premier League last season and putting in some more good performances in this campaign. The emergence of Marcos Alonso as Conte’s preferred left back option has left the Ghana international feeling surplus to requirements, and he will need a move away in order to establish some consistent game time.

Fiorentina meanwhile are currently sitting in 12th position in the Serie A table, eight points above the drop zone but 20 off leaders Napoli. They have conceded 19 times this season, and will be hoping that the addition of Baba will help shore up their defence.
