Lionel Messi has been named in Barcelona’s matchday squad to take on Deportivo La Coruna at Camp Nou.

The Argentina international has been sidelined since picking up a groin strain in the 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on September 21.

But head coach Luis Enrique told a news conference on Friday that the superstar forward would return for Saturday’s LaLiga clash and Messi has been named in Barca’s 18-man squad for the game.

Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti have also been passed fit, but Jasper Cillessen, Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba are injured.

Despite Roberto’s injury, out-of-favour Aleix Vidal is not selected by head coach Luis Enrique.

Barcelona squad to play Deportivo:

Ter Stegen, Masip, Pique, Rakitic, Busquets, Denis Suarez, Turan, Iniesta, Luis Suarez, Messi, Neymar, Rafinha, Mascherano, Alcacer, Digne, Gomes, Umtiti, Mathieu.
