Flamengo have issued Palmeiras an official notice regarding the alleged tapping-up of Ronaldinho.
Palmeiras president Arnaldo Tirone admitted on Friday that the 32-year-old could be of interest to his side, but was quick to quash any notion that a move was in the pipeline after revealing the state of their finances.
However, according to Flamengo this is not the case, and they have accused their rivals of tapping up Ronaldinho prior to being released from his contract as a result of unpaid wages on Thursday.
“There is evidence that Palmeiras began negotiations for the employment of the player Ronaldo de Assis Moreira (Ronaldinho) on a date prior to the granting of emancipation of guardianship issued by the 9th Labour Court of the District of Rio de Janeiro,” the notice read.
Shortly upon receiving the document, director Piraci Oliveira dismissed the accusations, purporting the statement to be nothing more than ‘fantasy’.
“We will clarify our position on either Monday and Tuesday,” he told GE.net.
“It is fantasy. Palmeiras refute any of the accusations, especially in regards to tapping up.”
