Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan will be out for three to four weeks after suffering a thigh injury during the Champions League match with PSV Eindhoven, the Spanish club said on Wednesday.

The Uruguayan international was taken off injured in the 30th minute of Tuesday’s match, in which Atletico thrashed PSV 3-0 in the Madrid club’s first appearance in the Champions League group stage for 11 years.

His absence is expected to give French striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle, transferred from Recreativo Huelva, more chance to impress his new club.
