Franck Ribery set for one-year Bayern extension

German magazine Kicker is reporting that veteran winger Franck Ribery is set to sign a new one-year deal at Allianz Arena.

The 35-year-old has spent 11 very successful years in Munich, but his current contract is due to expire in June.

The club chiefs recently hinted both Ribery and Robben will be offered new short-term deals and Kicker now claims the Frenchman will soon sign a contract until June 2019.

Chances are the highly rated footballer will see his first team opportunities decrease as Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry also challenge for starting positions, but Ribery doesn’t seem to mind.

The Frenchman has proved to be one of the best signings in club’s recent history, having produced 117 goals and 178 assists in 382 competitive appearances for Bayern.
