Fulham chase Hammers duo

West Ham will let both Bobby Zamora and John Paintsil leave the club and have given Fulham permission to speak to the players according to Setanta Sports.

Since Alan Curbishley took over at the club, 27 year old Zamora has not figured as regularly for The Hammers. Both Dean Ashton and Carlton Cole are preferred to him and even young Freddie Sears gets the nod ahead of him in the pecking order.

Paintsil joined the club two years ago from Hapoel Tel Aviv but has also found his first team chances limited since Curbishley succeeded Alan Pardew.

A statement carried on the club website reported, “West Ham can confirm the club have received an approach from Fulham for the transfer of Bobby Zamora and John Paintsil,”

After keeping Fulham from relegation on the last day of the season, Roy Hodgson is looking to ensure the club does not struggle next season and has already bought West Brom’s Zoltan Gera and Bolton’s Andranik Teymourian on Bosman free transfers.
