Out of favour Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago could be set to make a switch to Serie A according to his agent Zoran Vekic.
Gago has only made 4 league appearances so far this season and faces stiff competition for games from the likes of Kaka, Guti, Xabi Alonso as well as both Mahamadou and Lassana Diarra.
Rumours in Spain suggest that the defensive midfielder has become unsettled under Manuel Pellegrini and is concerned that his place in the Argentinian squad for the World Cup in 2010 could be under threat.
A move to Italy could secure the former Boca star first-team football, however it is not certain that Madrid would let the midfielder leave just yet.
“It’s true, the player is liked in Italy,” said agent Vekic.
“I have not been contacted officially by any team. A possibility could arise from between now and January, but it all depends on Real Madrid, with whom he has a contract until 2013.
“Until Real Madrid say that want to sell him we will not be moving.”
