Galatasaray eyeing Serie A defenders

Galatasaray are hoping to sign one of Andre Ranocchia and Davide Astori by the end of the winter transfer window, reports Fanatik.

The transfer window in Turkey does not close until Monday evening and the Turkish giants are desperate to sign a high-quality centre-back by before the deadline.

After missing out on John Heitinga, Galatasaray have been in talks with Inter Milan over the loan signing of Andrea Ranocchia.

However, with the move for the Italy international likely to fall through due to his high wage demands, the Turks look set to turn their attention to Cagliari’s Davide Astori.

Roberto Mancini knows the player well from his time in Serie A, but the €10 million asking price could prove to be the problem.

Galatasaray trail arch rivals Fenerbahce no less than 10 points in the Turkish Super Lig standings, although Cimbom have a game in hand.

The Turk Telekom Arena outfit still hope to revive their title bid and they are currently priced at 7/2 for the league title.
