Galatasaray pull out of Kaka race

Galatasaray president Unal Aysal has ruled out the possibility of signing Real Madrid playmaker Kaka.

The 71-year-old had previously claimed the Turkish champions would be more than capable of signing the former AC Milan star, who has been widely linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Brazilian has been left out of Jose Mourinho’s squad for their games against Barcelona and Getafe, but it appears he will not end up in Istanbul.

“What is Kaka going to do in this team?” Aysal told Milliyet.

“Do I really have much of a need for him? We will work in co-ordination with (coach) Fatih Terim to bring important players into the squad.

“If needed, new reinforcements could be made. We are looking at alternatives at left-back.”
