Galatasaray submit offer for Bafetimbi Gomis

Turkish giants Galatasaray are believed to have submitted a substantial proposal for Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis, L’Equipe has suggested.

The 31-year-old has impressed during the loan stint with Marseille, bagging 20 league goals and scoring the winner on the final day of the season to help l’OM secure European qualification.

However, with Marseille in the market for a high-profile centre forward and Gomis not interested in playing second fiddle to anyone, he is unlikely to remain at Stade Velodrome beyond the summer.

The Frenchman is bound to seriously consider a lucrative offer from Turkey, although it remains to be seen whether Swansea will attempt to bring him back to Liberty Stadium.

Gomis had had a difficult start to his spell with Marseille as he was targeted by the fans for expressing his love for Saint Etienne, but they eventually sorted out their differences and the striker was even handed the captain’s armband.
