Galatasaray to launch assault on Terry

Metro is reporting that Turkish giants Galatasaray are pondering a bid for Chelsea star John Terry.

New boss Roberto Mancini reportedly wants to reinforce his back line with the veteran defender and he is prepared to test Chelsea’s resolve with a January bid.

According to Metro, Galatasaray are prepared to offer Terry a long-term deal worth £150,000 per week.

And with his current deal due to expire at the end of the current campaign and Chelsea likely to propose a one-year extension, Mancini is hoping the former England international would consider an offer from Istanbul.

John Terry has kick-started his career at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Jose Mourinho, and chances are he won’t be too keen on leaving the Portuguese manager.

The Blues have missed an excellent opportunity to close the gap behind their title rivals, having narrowly escaped defeat to West Brom, and they are priced at 10/3 to lift the Premiership trophy.
