LA Galaxy managed to break their team-record winless streak of 12 games with a 5-2 win over D.C. United on Saturday.
Landon Donovan became the big hero for Galaxy after scoring three goals in the match, his second three-goal game of the season. Donovan is currently Major League Soccer top scorer with 19 goals.
Alan Gordon and Peter Vagenas scored the other goals for Galaxy, while David Beckham had an assist.
“When he plays like that, no one can stop him,” teammate David Beckham said of Donovan’s performance in the win. “When he runs at players and when he runs off the ball, no one can get near him because he’s too quick.”
