Los Angeles Galaxy’s playoff hopes are still alive after a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Sunday.

The Galaxy was forced to play without David Beckham who is away on International duty for England.

Goals from Buddle, McDonald and an own goal by Ihemelu secured the win for the Galaxy in front of a sold-out Home Depot Center.

Gibbs and McManus scored the goals for the visitors from Colorado.

“The first 15 minutes of the game we were thoroughly beaten all over the field,” said LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena. “I like the way our guys fought back into the game.

“I give our players a lot of credit. They worked real hard and played a scrappy game and walked off the field with three points, which was certainly the objective for the night.”

Arena added: “We have to win games. I’ve said all along, I don’t concern myself with standings or points. We have to win games. Even if we win out, we may fall short. But at least we know what we have to do. We’re not going into any games looking for a point. We have try to win.”
