Gameiro rules out January exit

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kevin Gameiro has surprised everyone by deciding to remain at Parc des Princes until the end of the season.

Gameiro, 25, has lost his place in the starting line-up following heavy summer recruitment and was heavily linked with a January exit.

Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Lille have all shown interest in the player’s services, but it appears that he won’t be moving clubs this winter.

“I am a Parisian until the end of the season,” the France international told Canal + after scoring a goal in PSG’s 3-0 win over Brest.

Despite starting just 3 Ligue 1 games this season, Gameiro has already scored 5 league goals, which, oddly enough, makes him more effective than star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Gameiro has been scoring a goal every 75.8 minutes this term, while the Swede has been netting every 78.8 minutes.

Despite pledging his immediate future to the Saints, the highly rated forward is, nonetheless, expected to leave at the end of the season.
