Getafe coach Luis Garcia has played down Real Madrid left-back Marcelo’s absence from Saturday’s La Liga clash.
The Brazil international remains in doubt for the game with a muscle strain, but Garcia has said that Fabio Coentrao is capable of causing his side all sorts of problems in that same position.
“If Marcelo is not available, then a guy who cost 30 million euros (24.9m pounds) (Coentrao) will play,” Garcia told reporters.
“Dani Guiza will not be able to play for us. I expect him to be important in the second half of the season.”
Garcia acknowledged that Madrid are in great form heading into this game, but he stressed that Getafe are also on a high.
“Madrid are the most in-form team by far, but they take on a strong Getafe, who have been playing very well and we hope it will stay this way,” he said.
“This is our best moment, but I think the same can be said about Madrid. They were eliminated in the Copa del Rey despite having a spectacular match at Barcelona and they won their last two home matches easily.”
