Lyon head coach Remi Garde has backed his side to rediscover their form in Ligue 1 when they host Bastia on Sunday.
Their top-of-the-table clash with rivals Marseille was postponed due to strong wings last week and it saw them slip to fourth on the table after Paris Saint-Germain and Toulouse both recorded wins.
Lyon then bowed out of the Coupe de la Ligue midweek after falling to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Nice and Garde is determined for his team to keep up with the league leaders.
“We want to be back on track in the league,” Garde said.
“We are quite behind after the cancellation of the game at Marseille. We are still expecting points. We can’t read properly the standings. We want to do what we didn’t do against Marseille.
“I think we need to redeem as well after our performance at Nice.
“We never can take confidence from a defeat. We need to show our response on Sunday.”
Garde defended his tactics but said his were prepared to adapt against Bastia, who are unbeaten in four league fixtures.
“It’s not all wrong,” he said. “I don’t blame our offensive tactic because there were a few good moves.
“We will try that again, either we start the game or during the game itself. I think this tactic fits the squad and the most experienced players I have but there is nothing certain yet. I wanted to try that.
“Everything was not good. It was the same with the others tactics we used. I have learned from that.”
