West Brom’s technical director Richard Garlick has confirmed that the club are working hard on landing some transfer targets.
Garlick has revealed that Franco Di Santo, who is a free agent following the end of his contract with Wigan, is high on their list.
The Argentina international has already engaged in informal talks with the club with further rounds of discussions set to take place.
“We need goals in the team and we need wide players. Priorities are strikers and wingers,” Garlick told the Birmingham Mail.
“It’s silly season at the moment but we know the type of strikers we want, we’ve profiled them and it’s now a case of matching up.
“And we’re certainly not panicking or rushing. There is lots of plate spinning and things can fall at different times.
“We could have two or three coming through at once. We might have a break between players arriving.
“But we won’t bring players in for the sake of it.”
With a clear focus on gaining forward players, the Baggies have also been linked to Arouna Kone and PSV Eindhoven’s Ola Toivonen.
They are also believed to have been monitoring the progress of 23-year-old Nacer Chadli, who plays as a winger for FC Twente.
The decision to bolster their attacking options comes as star striker Romelu Lukaku has returned to Chelsea and Peter Odemwingie is also reportedly seeking the exit door.
