AC Milan’s Gennaro Gattuso has been included in Italy’s squad for the Confederations Cup, which is to be played in South Africa later this month.
Gattuso has been struggling with a knee injury throughout most of the season but appears to be fit enough to make an appearance for the world champions.
The defensive midfielder made his international debut in 200 and scored one goal in 65 games since. The player featured at the Sydney Olympics and since represented the ‘Azzurri’ at all major tournaments.
In the Confederations Cup group phase, Italy take on the United States, Egypt and previous world champions Brazil.
