Genoa confirms Simeone exit

Genoa have moved to confirm that star forward Giovanni Simeone is almost certain to leave the club this summer.

The son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone enjoyed a breakthrough season last term, bagging 12 goals in 35 Serie A fixtures, and he has since been linked with quite a few top clubs.

It would appear as though Genoa have come to terms with losing the 22-year-old this summer as head coach Ivan Juric confirmed his star player was likely to leave.

“I think Simeone will leave if the right offer comes along,” Juric told Il Secolo XIX.

“If he stays, for the happiness of everyone, it would be great. He’ll become a top player, I’m convinced.

“He’s growing every day, he’s adding new things to his game. He has great legs and ability. Whoever buys him will have made a great purchase.”

Paris Saint-Germain, Lazio and Sevilla are some of the clubs that are believed to be eyeing Simeone.
