Genoa defender on AC Milan radar

AC Milan are considering a January bid for Genoa centre-back Sebastian De Maio, Il Corriere dello Sport has learned.

The Rossoneri aim to further shake up their defensive options after signing Alessio Romagnoli in the summer, with the French footballer one of the first names on their hit-list.

De Maio had a difficult start to his career at Stadio Luigi Ferraris after joining from Brescia, but he has been putting in some excellent performances under Gian Piero Gasperini.

The 28-year-old has developed into one of Serie A’s leading central defenders and could now be set for a big club move.

Having lived in Italy since 2006, De Maio has applied for a citizenship and there is even talk of the experienced defender receiving a call from Antonio Conte.

Sebastian De Maio has spent last two years at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, making 63 Serie A appearances and scoring 3 goals in the process.
