Genoa wonderkid snubbed Man Utd move

BBC Sport has moved to reveal that Genoa starlet Pietro Pellegri could have joined Manchester United a couple of years ago.

Having already scored 3 Serie A goals, the 16-year-old is rightly considered one of Italy’s hottest prospects and top European clubs are lining up for his services.

AC Milan and Juventus have already failed in their attempts to sign Pellegri, while BBC Sport claims that the youngster and his father rejected an approach from Manchester United back in 2015.

After impressing at the Manchester United Premier Cup in Salford, the striker was offered a visit to the club’s training ground, but he rejected the opportunity after speaking with his father, who now works as a team manager at Genoa.

Following the brace in the 3-2 defeat to Lazio, Pellegri seems to have nailed down a regular starting berth at Stadio Luigi Ferraris and there are no doubts his future performances will be under the watchful eye of European powerhouses.
