The Georgian Football Association is determined to continue as usual, despite the current conflict with neighbouring Russia.
Georgia are scheduled to play a friendly with Wales next Wednesday. Those selected have travelled to Azerbaijan’s capital city Baku to request a visa for Great Britain.
On September 6th, the Georgians should host the Republic of Ireland for their first World Cup Qualifier but whether this match is to take place remains to be seen.
Georgian club WIT recently had to cancel their UEFA Cup preliminary match with Austria Wien as result of the conflict. And the tie will now be decided by a single match played in Vienna.
