Thomas Muller claims Germany could have scored more in their 3-0 win over Czech Republic, although he was delighted to send the fans home happy.
The world champions were ruthless in blowing away their visitors in Hamburg, with Muller’s brace and Toni Kroos’ goal earning another three points towards World Cup qualification.
And the Bayern Munich man admitted that his side might have won by a more convincing margin had they not wasted a number of chances.
“We could have scored more goals, but have nevertheless played a great game,” he told RTL.
“We pleased the fans, who made a great atmosphere, so it is even more fun to play for Germany.”
Having struggled in front of goal at Euro 2016, Muller has four in two so far in this Group C campaign.
“When you are not scoring goals, it’s just so that you can work hard on yourself and you have to try again,” he added.
“There are just unfortunately still defenders and a goalkeeper.”
Germany face Northern Ireland in their clash on Tuesday, having beaten Michael O’Neill’s men 1-0 at the Euros.
