As revealed by the club, Getafe’s busy summer continues as Leandro Chichizola’s transfer to the Spanish side has been confirmed. The 28-year-old goalkeeper had been linked with a move elsewhere around La Liga in the wake of Las Palmas’ relegation to the second tier, with the Argentine impressing throughout the course of the season despite the club only managing to pick up five victories in 38 league matches.
After starting off his career at River Plate, Chichizola made the jump to Spezia where he spent three years of his career. He was then given his big break with Las Palmas, and now, he continues to move up the ladder with there still being a few years to go before he really enters his prime.
Getafe finished in 8th last season, just three points outside of the European spots – and now, they’ll be aiming to continue their surge up the table during the 2018/19 campaign.
