Gibbs value too high for Premier League suitors

The Metro understands that Arsenal may have to lower their valuation of Kieran Gibbs if they are to sell him to one of their Premier League rivals.

A number of potential suitors have been put off by the Gunners’ £15m price tag with Newcastle United, Stoke City, Brighton and Hove Albion and Watford all linked with a move to secure his services.

Gibbs managed only eight Premier League starts for Arsene Wenger’s side last season with Nacho Monreal first choice in his position and the arrival of Sead Kolasinac is likely to threaten his chances even more so.

Aside from a brief loan spell with Norwich City in 2008 Gibbs has spent his entire career so far at the Emirates Stadium racking up a total of two hundred and twenty-nine appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals.

He has ten caps for England but hasn’t featured since playing in a 2-0 friendly win over France in November 2015.
