Italian striker Alberto Gilardino has yesterday finalized a move to Fiorentina. The former AC Milan striker has endured a difficult time in three years at the rosonerri and will now look for a new start to his career. It is believed that an annual salary of £1.2 million will help him move on after a disappointing three years.
Gilardino moved to AC Milan in the summer of 2005 and was expected to rise to the top of the football world but his style never matched his teams and he struggled to find the net with such regularity as he did at Parma four seasons ago. Now AC Milan have sold him for a transfer fee of £11, according to Football Italia, and the player could not be happier.
“It has been a marriage made in heaven.” said Gilardino at press conference.
“We quickly understood that this deal could be done in a matter of days and I could not wait to do it.”
Now the player will hope that he will be able to gel with Fiorentina star strike Adrian Mutu and return to his imperious best. He will now see his failure to make Italy’s Euro 2008 squad as extra motivation.

Got something to say?

This is the best move for him. He makes the best Seria A attack with Mutu.
Forza Viola!
