Bordeaux coach Francis Gillot said his side was fortunate to take all three points from their home clash with Rennes on Sunday.
Bordeaux made it two Ligue 1 wins from two matches with the 1-0 triumph, which came courtesy of a 75th-minute goal from Ludovic Obraniak.
Gillot believed there was little to separate the two teams and praised the work of his forwards, who helped them win the game.
“We did very well in that game,” Gillot said. “The difference between the two teams was thin but we were more realistic.
“We started the game well and created a few goal scoring opportunities. We missed a penalty, then it was more complicated as we spent a lot of energy in the first half.
“But the forwards who came in did very well. If the score was 1-1 it wouldn’t be unfair but luck was on our side, like the end of last season.”
