Gomez says Lewandowski would feel at home in Munich

Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez believes that Robert Lewandowski would be a welcome addition to the squad in the summer transfer window, that’s according to Talk Sport.

Lewandowski is of course currently plying his trade with Borussia Dortmund, but there are a number of doubts over whether he will stay with the current Bundesliga champions.

Reports have been suggesting that Bayern had moved ahead of Manchester United with regards to their chances of signing the Poland international and Gomez feels as though he would be at home at the Allianz Arena.

He did however, admit that Bayern need to let the players know what the plan is.

He said: “The club must be clear and tell us what is happening, even if it is not my role to comment on the situation. The only thing I can say is that strikers will feel at home in Bavaria. We shall see.”

It certainly wouldn’t be a move that would go down well with Dortmund fans as Bayern have become their closest rivals in terms of challenging for trophies in German football.

However, if the player wants to go, it might be tough to stop him making the move.

One key factor could be Pep Guardiola making the move to Bayern as Lewandowski might feel as though they can be one of the biggest clubs in Europe over the next few years.
