La Liga strugglers Granada have escaped with an important point in their 2-2 draw with Getafe on Monday.
Going into the game Juan Antonio Anquela’s men were one place outside the relegation zone and got off to the worst possible start after Getafe’s Juan Rodriquez put the home side ahead after 19 minutes.
But Granada were back in it ten minutes later after David Abraham was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box, with Guilherme Siqueira converting the resulting spot-kick.
Paco Alcacer put Getafe back in front on the stroke of half-time and his goal appeared to be enough to give his side the win before Rafa was penalised for another handball in the area in the 93rd minute.
Siqueira was once again able to keep his nerve to slot home the penalty and hand his side an invaluable point.
The draw ensures Granada stay 17th on the La Liga table, one place above the drop zone, while Getafe drop to 11th, six points outside the European places.
