Gregucci: Cavani deal ´will not be easy´

SoccerNews in Serie A 6 Feb 2013

Manchester City assistant Angelo Gregucci says it would be tough for the Premier League champions to lure Edinson Cavani away from Napoli.

The Uruguay international has been heavily linked with a move away from the San Paolo, but Napoli have steadfastly insisted they will only let go of the player if a club matches his 63 million-euro buy-out clause.

Although Gregucci feels Napoli have slapped a high price-tag on the 25-year-old, he believes the prolific striker would be well worth the money.

“I am sure that it will not be easy for us at City to take Cavani. He is well worth his high price-tag and I’m sure that he would score goals at the top 10 clubs in the world,” Gregucci told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“His buy-out clause is pretty high and Napoli did a good job to include that in his deal. I feel that it would be money well spent, though. He is worth every cent.”

Gregucci went on to discuss the transfer of Mario Balotelli from City to AC Milan, and claimed the move benefited all three parties.

“I think that everybody won in this transfer,” he said.

“Manchester City receive more money than they paid for him, Milan gain something because Mario can be devastating, and Balotelli can get back to his best without the pressure from the media and focus on his football again.”

Balotelli netted twice on his Milan debut as he helped them to a 2-1 win over Udinese at the weekend.
